OH SWEET STRAWBERRIES.
Let’s play dress up!
Simple . . . Simple . . . Simple
I’m really not aware of anyone who doesn’t love a Chocolate Dipped Strawberry. Most of you . . . I’m sure have dipped this glorious berry in decadent chocolate before, but you can take it much further. This isn’t a recipe at all, just a reminder of a treat that is very expensive to buy in a Candy Shop, but very inexpensive to make at home. If you need to get really fancy, you can also put a tuxedo on them, or make the top of a wedding dress. Our favorite is the toasted Coconut Strawberry. As you can see, I snipped my hole to drizzle a bit too big. DON’T DO THAT. Grab a tray of strawberries and Play dress up today!
You will need:
Strawberries – washed and dried thoroughly
Candy melts or good dipping Chocolate – White & Chocolate
Chopped Nuts of any variety – (The picture above is Almonds)
Toasted Coconut
Spread Coconut in shallow pan. Bake at 350 for 7 to 10 minutes until very golden brown.
Stir frequently while baking. Let Cool, and break up slightly with fingers.
Directions:
Prepare the berries by washing and drying them thoroughly. (Wet strawberries do not dip very well!) Line a baking sheet with Parchment paper. In a small bowl, melt candy melts or dipping chocolate in microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring well after each until melted and smooth. Do not over heat, or the chocolate will turn white and lumpy!
Hold the Strawberry by the stem, and dip quickly in and out of the chocolate, leaving part of the red berry showing. Place on tray to set up, or dip soft chocolate into chopped nuts, toasted coconut or other. Dipped Strawberries are also very good in the White chocolate, or you can just drizzle the white chocolate over the top. Pour a bit of the white choc. into a plastic bag, twist the chocolate tightly in the corner of the bag, and snip the tip just barely. You can even dress up the berries Tuxedo Style or make the berry look like the top of a wedding dress. White or Dark Dipped Strawberries are also elegant looking when you dip the tips into the little white pearl sprinkles. So pretty!
Next time I grab a tray of Strawberries . . . I will show you how. If you have leftover Chocolate . . . dip a few Cinnamon Bears. Oh That’s good!

My kiddos love these. They also love when you stuff ’em…with mascarpone cheese and slivered almonds. 🙂
I never think to double dip. I’ll have to try that. I’m kinda lazy so I usually strip the strawberries with the chocolates.
