Saving & Printing Recipes: ZipList
I’m not one to jump on all the latest trends . . . I’m picky! I don’t buy into something, just because it’s trendy . . . if I think it will “fade” fast.
I’ve been watching and paying close attention:
ZipList seems to be what I term: Trendy Classic! I like that. It looks good and it’s here to stay.
So . . . it might take a day or two for everything to settle properly, but
ZipList has partnered with Get off your butt and Bake!
This will allow you to not only print your recipes, but you will also be able to save them in an online recipe box and even add ingredients to a shopping list. Along the way, you can even snag some terrific grocery deals. Those of you who already are familiar with ZipList know that they have an incredible line up of food blogs and websites such as Martha Stewart and brands such as Challenge Dairy and Pepperidge Farm. I’m excited to be in the mix!
In the MENU BAR, you’ll see a “recipe box” link. That is where you can go to take advantage of all of the great tools that ZipList offers. You can set up an account if you do not already have one, and then start saving recipes from your favorite sites, as well as a “shopping list” or meal planner. Just print & go! You can also click on the “how ZipList works” for a little ZipList 101.
(Go ahead . . . scroll up and click on it, but please come back!)
When you are reading a post, you will also be able to click the BLUE save button or print the recipe from the post.
To learn more about ZipList, check out their How It Works page. Save recipes, plan your shopping trips, organize your grocery list and even use on free mobile apps.
I sure hope this will be a helpful for everyone. I’ve loved it on other sites, so I assume we will enjoy it on Get off your butt and Bake as well.
ZipList can’t magically add all of my previous recipes into the recipe box, but going forward you can look forward to using it with all of the new recipes. I will be adding some of my old recipes to the recipe box over time, slowly but surely. Checkout ZipList . . . you’ll be amazed at the endless amount of awesome recipes awaiting you!

This app is super cool. Thank you so much for sharing!
I’ve looked at ZipList and it is lacking too many options that an app I currently use, MENU-PLANNER has. MENU-PLANNER allows everything ZL does (except 1 thing which I will come back to), plus it allows you to SCAN bar codes, make changes to imported recipes, it keeps track of items in your pantry, and allows you to not just plan recipes but food items (for example, if you want to include a box of rice pilaf with your meal). It can track recent prices for items at different stores. It allows you to track calories or points for your menu as well. MENU-PLANNER seems to have so many more options that ZipList and without all the annoying advertisements. The only thing ZL has that MP does not is the ability to search local ads for sales, but since the creator of MP has always been open to suggestions and made improvement based on them, it could very well be coming soon.
Hi Niki,
I’ve seen this, and I agree it’s very nice!
I don’t think it’s an option for WordPress websites as a plugin though – that allow viewers to print recipes, with the option to save with a grocery list as well.
This was the main reason. It’s a app but not feasible for a website.
I could be wrong.

I love Ziplist! I have been using it for months now and it is my go to for meal planning, list making and also sending the hubby to the store with my list (that he can pull up on his phone). I’m excited to easily save your yummy recipes on ZL so I don’t have to toggle back and forth!
