Mmm . . . This kitchen of mine smells of sweet Chocolate.
Smooth melting Nestle Chocolate.
Nestle’s Chocolate Quick Bread is responsible!
I’ve tried every brand of baking Chocolate and Chocolate Chips, but Nestle is still my favorite.
The other day, I came across this:
It’s a fabulous array of Recipes.
Mint recipes . . . Chocolate recipes . . . Pumpkin recipes . . . All of our Winter Favorites.
I had a difficult time deciding which holiday recipe to get off my butt and BAKE!
Chocolate Peppermint Wafers, Pumpkin Chocolate Brownies, Lighter Libby’s Pumpkin Pie, Butterfinger Caramel Apples, were just a few to choose from.
I decided on Nestle’s Chocolate Chunk Pecan Quick Bread with Chocolate Honey Butter!
Ohhhhhh . . . need I say more.
Even my “not so Chocolate loving – husband,” enjoyed this Delicious Chocolate Quick Bread with decadent Chocolate Honey Butter!
That Chocolate Honey Butter . . . tastes like a bowl of silky Chocolate Truffles!
See the top of that Cake?
Well . . . It’s toasted Pecans- encased in warm, gooey, melted Nestle Chocolate!
Underneath that decadent crunch topping is a moist & very rich Chocolate Cake.
Come on . . . Get off your butt and Bake this cake!
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
You’ll begin by combining the flour, Nestle Baking Cocoa, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
Whisk it all together in a medium sized bowl.
Note: I added only 1/3 cup of Nestle Baking Cocoa.
If you like a dark Chocolate Cake, add a full 1/2 cup.
Beat a stick of softened butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar together.
Beat it until it’s light & fluffy.
Beat it some more . . . you want some air in that mixture!
Add your eggs . . . one at a time.
Beat very well, after each egg.
Beat it some more!
If will be full of air and very fluffy.
Gradually beat in the flour – cocoa mixture alternately with the buttermilk.
Add a little of that . . .
and a little of this . . .
a little of that . . .
. . . and the rest of this.
Beat well, until it’s all combined.
Taste it . . . it’s delish!
Add half of your chopped nuts to the batter.
I added both walnuts and Pecans to my batter.
We like the flavor combination of the two nuts together.
With your spatula, simply fold the nuts in.
Spread it nicely in your greased loaf pan.
Come on now . . . stop eating it!
Note: I always grease my pans with a spray, but I also cut a piece of parchment paper and lay it on the bottom of the pan.
When you do this . . . nothing ever sticks!
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
While the cake is baking, I rough chopped some Nestle Toll House Morsels & pecans, for the top of the cake.
Because I forgot to buy Mini Morsels!
Improvise is my middle name.
If you have Mini’s . . . you don’t need to chop!
Pull the cake out of the oven after the first 20 minutes of baking time.
Sprinkle the mini morsels . . . or your Nestle Chocolate Chunks & the pecans, over the top of that beautiful Cake.
Put it back in the oven for about 30 to 35 more minutes of baking time.
Remember: In your oven . . . it might not take that long.
Check it with a toothpick. Insert it in the center.
If it comes out clean . . . it’s done . . . and it will be spectacular!
Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, on a wire rack to cool.
Go around the edges with a knife to loosen the cake before removing it from the pan.
I placed a clean towel over the top of the cake before flipping it over and out of the pan.
That way, if there is any loose nuts . . . you can catch them all.
If only there was smell – a – vision.
(Please keep in mind . . . it’s pitch dark outside . . . and I refuse to use a flash)
You’re not done.
You must make the Nestle Chocolate Honey Butter.
I’m telling you, it tastes like a big creamy truffle!
You will need:
Nestle Toll House Semi-sweet or Milk chocolate Chips, softened butter and honey.
Add your chocolate chips or mini’s to a small microwave safe bowl.
Power on high for 25 to 30 seconds.
Take out . . . STIR . . . place back in the microwave.
If necessary, microwave at additional 10 to 15 second intervals.
Stir just until morsels are melted; let cool.
Add one stick of softened butter.
Drizzle the honey over the butter and the melted chocolate.
With an electric mixer, beat until very fluffy.
I’ve had honey butter before, but never Chocolate Honey Butter.
Is it legal to eat this with a spoon?
Ohhhh my heck good!
You really do need to get off your butt and BAKE this NESTLE CHOCOLATE QUICK BREAD.
