Today . . .
I beg for votes.
I announce a GIVE-AWAY!
*giveaway has now ended
I give you a delicious recipe.
This is a recipe I’ve shared before, but my kitchen welcomed them again.
I took pictures . . . then I ate 2 of them. I had to run on the treadmill twice today!
I believe that Mini Monkey Bread has been my most popular post so far.
I’m telling you what . . . these babies are good!
Before I show you more pic’s,
Let the begging begin . . .
A sweet lady named Joelle sent me an email that said this:
Hey I was just looking on Babbles top 100 food blogs and wanted to nominate your website but it was already nominated. Here is the link, http://www.babble.com/best-recipes/dinner/top-100-food-mom-blog-2011-nominate-a-food-blog/
I think you should post you are nominated so you can have all your dedicated followers vote for you. I love your site and your recipes!
~
Joelle . . . I think you are super sweet indeed!
I appreciate that you took the time to contact me, and let me know that my blog was even there.
So . . . I guess I’m begging for my readers to click on the link above and vote for me. (If you click on Alphabetical, I’m listed as 124) I don’t know who nominated me, but I sure do appreciate it! I’m waaaaaaaaay behind at this point.
2nd . . . A GIVE-AWAY! I have a fun opportunity coming up soon. Rhodes Rolls contacted me, and wondered if I would be interested in doing a few Guest Posts on their Blog:
Rhodes has recently launched a brand new fabulous Cookbook. They sent me 2 of them in the mail. One Cookbook is for me, so that I can make their recipes and post the step by step tutorials to their Blog. The other Cookbook is to Give-away to one of my readers. I’m telling you . . . this book is Fabulous. It has 174 recipes, and each one has a beautiful, stunningly delicious photograph.
All you need to do to be entered into this Give-away, is leave me a comment BELOW THIS POST. Tell us which Rhodes recipe is your favorite. If you haven’t had the opportunity to try Rhodes Frozen bread dough . . . that’s o.k. Just tell me which post on my blog is your favorite.
I will close the give-away on Saturday, March 26th at Midnight. (Mountain Standard Time) The winner of the Cookbook will be announced the following Monday.
You should hop on over to the Rhodes site for some more baking inspiration. A sweet Guest Blogger named Yvonne from Tried and Tasty is sharing a new recipe today.
Guess what? The Mini Monkey Bread Recipe is a Rhodes Roll Recipe! It’s one of our favorites. In fact, if you look through this blog you will find many, many recipes made from Rhodes Rolls. For Example: Orange Knots, Parmesan Knots, Scones, Lemon Twists, Pretzels and on and on. I have one of their first Cookbooks, and I love it, but this one is over the top. Don’t forget to leave me a comment below this post!
Take a look:
Now . . . I want to tempt your taste buds a bit further!
Ready to begin the Big Rise.
Some like a nut . . .
Some don’t . . .
Ready for the oven.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Make sure the bottoms are done as well.
Don’t let them rise too much, or they will explode in your oven!
Oh . . . SWEET.
Now don’t panic, if the syrup comes up and covers the top of your muffin pan.
Just take a heat-proof spatula, and push it all back over to the Mini Monkeys.
You show them who’s Boss!
Let them cool in the tin for 10 minutes or so, then place each one on a parchment lined Cookie sheet.
If a few of those monkeys wants to mis-behave, simply push him back where he belongs.
Once you make these . . . you will understand what I mean!
Lem them cool ever so slightly.
Begin your drizzle.
I happened to have left-over Cream Cheese Frosting in my fridge, so that’s what I used today.
The glaze recipe is also perfect. I put my frosting in a squeeze bottle and squirt it on.
I wish you could smell them . . . Better yet . . . Taste them!
Gooey, Sticky, Chewy.
Heaven on Earth!
Please remember to hop on over to Babble and vote for me pretty please.
*My # keeps changing, so just search for Just Get Off Your Butt and BAKE!
PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO COMMENT BELOW THIS POST TO WIN THE RHODES COOKBOOK.
If you want the full Tutorial and the recipe, you will have to hop on over .

MINI MONKEY BREADS
12 Rhodes Dinner rolls thawed, but still cold
1 stick of butter, melted
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Icing: I doubled this.
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1-2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Cut each dinner roll into 6 equal pieces. In a bowl, combine butter and corn syrup and stir until well mixed. In another bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon and mix well. Dip each roll piece in the butter mixture and then in the sugar mixture. Place 6 pieces in each well sprayed cup of a 12 cup muffin tin. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and let double in size. (Watch them so they don’t rise too much!) Remove wrap and bake at 350°F 15-20 minutes. Combine icing ingredients and mix well. Drizzle over monkey breads if desired.
Cool at least 5 to 10 minutes before removing from pan, or they fall apart.
These are really scrumptious . . . make sure that you aren’t home alone. You might just eat them all!

I can’t remember how I came across your blog, but I love it. I love having recipes with detailed instructions and great pictures! My favorite Rhodes dough recipe of yours is the Pretzel Bites. They were fun to make and really yummy! And my favorite non-Rhodes recipe is the Cheesy Crispy Potatoes with Chicken and Bacon. That one was a big hit with the family!

The orange knots look amazing.

Plus my husband’s best friend is your brother. Funny how the world is intertwined! I am addicted to your blog. I am sure that it is very time consuming to do what you do and me and my family really appreciate it. Thank you! That is so exciting about you getting to do what you do best for Rhodes! Congratulations! As for my favorite, it has to be all the different ways that you can take an ordinary ball of dough and cut it, roll it, and make it look like you slaved all day making fancy rolls.

I love me some monkey bread!
I wish we had Rhodes rolls in Holland. I would try to make all your recipes starting with the monkey bread!
Maybe next time you can give the monkeys a dash of coke (instead of the corn syrup) before you bake them. It will make them moist and sticky.
To bad we don’t have Rhodes rolls in Holland. If we had I would try your monkey bread receipe. They look similar to our
“Zeeuwse Bollen”. Maybe next time you can give the monkeys a das of coke insted of using corn syrup. It will make them moist and sticky!
I have never had a recipe that I have tried with rhodes dough not be the best!!! I love to make scones with it, I love the monkey bread mini bites, I love to make french bread, and bread sticks, and of course, the orange knots…the conveniance of rhodes dough is the greatest. yum, yum!!!!! Michelle

My favorite recipe is one my Mom made every Christmas, for as long as I can remember. It is a Cinnimon/Sugar Christmas Tree. It is so much fun to make and eat. The branches are twisted, dripping with icing, and decorated with green and red cherries. I still make this every Christmas for my girls, they look forward to eating it after opening presents just like I did.
Some time ago, I saw a Rhodes recipe in a magazine. It was some sort of pull apart sweet bread concoction. It looked good, but I didn’t pull it because Rhodes bread was not available in our area…at that time. It has since been introduced here and I would love to try it that recipe!
