Kitchen Conversations & Butterflake Orange Rolls

I’d like to introduce you to my better half – my best friend.

The Father of our four daughters, our great provider, and my warm place.

As I’ve been in comment heaven . . . he ruined it,

with the look .

I could barely look at him . . . so I didn’t!

O.K.  O.K.

I confess!

You all knew it anyway.  I had to come clean before Sunday.

It wasn’t a lie . . . It was just April Fools, and it was fun.

until

I was utterly racked with guilt, and humiliation –

as my husband reminded me . . . “I should be!”

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for all the sweetness.

I’ve never had comment sweetness before, and I became a glutton!

p.s…..my husband told me to say that.

But see . . . now I can call you all friends!

I will let you know very soon . . . who won the Spring green and the Flirty Pink Aprons.

It will be on my next post.  I think I might even give away 4 of them!

It’s my way of repenting.

I thought I better bake something.  Something Simple.  Something Delicious.

It’s my way of sending sweetness back to you.  Wish I could deliver them in person.  I would you know!

~

Here’s what’s been cooking in my kitchen today, in between Conference . . . which was Splendid.

Good-bye Comments. It’s been so nice meeting your all.  I will Miss you Greatly.

The End

BUTTER FLAKE ORANGE ROLLS

I think we should make them together . . .Don’t me mad now.

Get back in this kitchen!

Start by thawing some Texas size Rhodes Rolls.

I thawed 12 of them.

Grab yourself a nice juicy orange.

careful now . . . don’t get the white stuff, cuz it’s bitter!

this to . . .

 and they listened . . .

Smell – a – vision

Thanks again everyone – You’ve warmed my heart

HAPPY EASTER!

EASY BUTTERFLAKE ORANGE ROLLS

12 Rhodes Texas Rolls, thawed but still cold
zest from 1 large orange
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted

Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon butter, melted
2-3 tablespoons fresh orange juice

 Directions:

Cut each Texas roll into 5 equal pieces. Flatten each piece slightly. In a small bowl, combine orange zest and sugar. Dip both sides of each roll piece into butter and then orange sugar mixture. Stack five pieces together and place, on their sides, in a well sprayed muffin cup. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until double in size. Remove wrap and bake at 350°F 15-20 minutes. Remove from pan immediately and place on cooling rack. Combine icing ingredients and mix well. Brush over rolls while still warm.

Hey Jonna, just making your 7 layer bars AGAIN, my family is up from arizona and they always request treats from me because I am second only to you! I told them I had a recipe they would die for and she said she couldn’t die until Friday so I told her maybe she’d better not eat any of these becuase they just might kill her. I might just as well smear them on my thighs and butt as eat them cause thats where they’re going anyway! Elleah and I have a blast pouring over your blog and my entire family spread all over the country is in on it. I hear you dont’t eat much of the stuff you bake, believe me, it has been discussed! how could you and look like you do? I’m just down the road if you need a place for your leftovers!!!!ReplyCancel
