Two things on my mind.
It simply won’t hold more than two things at once.
1. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to all of you that voted for my simple Blog over at BABBLE. I was beyond thrilled to find out that I made the top 100 Food Blogs!
Considering that there are upteemth billion food blogs, I was quite eager to even grace the list!
2. I know that I’ve been missing in action lately. I came down with a bugger of an illness that put me “out of commission” for a while. NOW, I’m better . . . but I find myself hunkered down in the middle of the Raspberry bushes. I’m sharing that position with grasshoppers and Daddy long legs! I’m telling you now hubbie . . . if I find a snake in the middle of all those rows of Raspberries . . . I’m OUTA THERE! The Peas are on, and my back . . . well . . . you just don’t want to know. If you read my blog every summer, then you already know that the garden is not my best friend. It’s my hubbies passion. I’d rather be baking!!!!!
Since time is not ample, I have to make things simple. My youngest Daughter and her sweet family are visiting from Virginia. These delicious Bars are a simple family favorite that we all love. Surely everyone in the world has made these bars! Just in case one of you hasn’t heard of them, this post is for you.
My Grandma called these bars Hello Dolly Bars. Some of you might also call these bars Magic Bars. There are probably a hundred different names for the same yummy bar. You can really add layers of anything you like. Marshmallows are also a great layer as well as nuts.
I think the key to Hello Dolly Bars or Magic Bars, is to bake them until they are a dark golden brown color. If you under-bake . . . they just don’t taste the same. Trust me on this one. My mind is full of new recipes both sweet & savory. I will make appearances on this crazy blog, so don’t don’t too far away. In the meantime, I will be picking & freezing Raspberries, picking and shelling peas for freezing, making Salsa with all the tomatoes and on and on and on.
Thank You again for VOTING for me. You made my day . . . my week . . . my year!
