Coconut Macaroon Shortbread Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 3 Tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teas vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or almonds
  • 1/2 cup flaked or shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix 1 cup flour, butter and powdered sugar. Press in greased pan 8x8x2 or 9x9x2.
  3. Bake 10 minutes.
  4. Beat eggs, stir in all other ingredients.
  5. Spread over the baked layer.
  6. Bake until golden brown about 25 to 30 minutes.
  7. Cool and cut in small bars.
