Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I grew up with a Dad who didn’t like Chocolate Chip Cookies! How can this be you ask? Well, because of this…. I swore that I would marry a man who loved them. I married a man who won’t eat Chocolate Chip Cookies! When I do make these warm Chocolate, crisp, chewy cookies, I enjoy every bite. These are both great recipes. The cookies come out of the oven looking pretty.

You be the judge on which is the best!

RECIPE #2…..Also Very Good
Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter,melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups semisweet or Milk chocolate chips – (I only use 1 1/2 cups)
preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended.• Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended.• Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon. Drop rounded balls of cookie dough, onto the cookie sheets. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted & cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely•

For a wonderful treat: Once cookies have cooled completely, smash about a 1/4 cup of vanilla ice cream in the middle of two cookies for a delightful summer treat.
