“Bitz of Glitz” – Giveaway & my favorite Beef or Chicken Marinade
Summer . . . if it does actually come, it means grilling time.
I think Idaho is stuck in Spring.
Nevertheless . . . I’m grilling through the snow, hail, rain and mostly the wind!
It’s also fun to make Beef or Chicken Kabobs . . . layer some veggies in between if you like.

One of the ways that blog rankings are measured, is by reader commenting. I actually know that a few of you have subscribed to this crazy blog. Please take the time to leave me a comment every now and then. I promise I will visit you in turn!
In the meantime . . . make this marinade!
- ½ Cup soy sauce
- 1 Cup Water
- 3 heaping Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. ginger
- 1 teaspoon Canadian steak or Montreal Steak Seasoning
- use even when making chicken)
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice.
- ½ teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
- Mix all together with a whisk, and pour mixture over chicken or beef. Cover with saran wrap, or put it all in a zip loc baggie and let marinate overnight, or for at least 2 to 4 hours.
This marinade also makes a great sauce for stir fry as well. It’s a bit too strong left as is, so after marinating the beef or chicken in full strength marinade, take the marinade and dilute it with water until it’s the strength you desire. Bring the marinade to a simmer, and then thicken it with Cornstarch and cold water.
*Take a couple of tablespoons of cornstarch and add 2 to 3 tablespoons of COLD water. Mix until well blended. Slowly add it stirring constantly to the marinade to thicken it. You can add any veggies that you like for your stir fry.
