Here is a recipe that I make quite often. It’s really delicious & easy. Often, I add steamed broccoli & carrots to the chicken when it is tender and done. I also use 3/4 cup of lite soy sauce and 1/2 cup water, instead. I’m giving you the recipe, as is written. You can also simmer your chicken breasts or thighs for 40 minutes, then put on the B-Q grill. It’s great that way as well.
YOU WILL NEED:
6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
or
You can also use 18 chicken thighs, skinned
1 C. lite soy Sauce
1/4 C. Water
1 C. Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp. Ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
DIRECTIONS:
Mix ingredients; simmer on stove 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until chicken is very tender. Take out chicken; thicken sauce with cornstarch and water. (about 2 tablespoons cornstarch and 1/4 cup COLD water; stir together & slowly add to sauce.) If you want it thicker add more cornstarch & water mixture to sauce. Can also be simmered for 35-40 minutes, then put on the BBQ grill.
*When serving with rice, I break up the chicken with a fork. Add steamed vegetables as desired.
