Leftovers.
We seem to have a lot of them in this household.
Don’t tell anyone, but I do it . . . On Purpose!
I make extra, so that another nights meal can be ultra easy.
Taco meat makes the most delicious Won-tons. My family loves them!
See . . .
The 1st night, we had Tacos.
If you want to see how I make my Taco meat – Click here.
With the leftover meat . . . I make these delicious crispy fried Won-tons and salsa for a dipping sauce.
Oh yeah . . . I Bottled Salsa yesterday. I will share the recipe very soon.
I served the won-tons with a nice Green Salad and Green Beans from the garden.
It’s so darn Easy . . . when you have leftover meat for the filling.
Just in case you haven’t ever used won-ton or egg roll wrappers, I’ll show you how.
You find them over by the produce in the refrigerated section of the grocery store.
I usually buy the egg roll wraps . . . as they are larger in size.
1. Take one of the wraps, and lay it on your work surface.
2. Place your filling (about 2 tablespoons) on the wrapper.
*Taco meat and grated cheese or Brown Sugared ham & cheese.
The options are endless . . . Sausage, pepperoni, veggies, etc.
3. Moisten the outside edges with a bit of water.
4. Fold end corner up and over the filling, roll snugly half way to cover filling.
5. Fold over both sides, snugly against filling.
*It should look like an envelope at this point.
6. Roll over flap to seal. Lay flap side down, until ready to fry.
*You can prepare these ahead of time, and keep them in the fridge until you are ready to fry them.
7. Deep fry at 350 degrees, a few at a time, turning occasionally, until golden. 2 to 3 minutes.
8. Drain on Paper towels. Serve warm with salsa, Mustard, Catsup, etc.
I also made Brown Sugar Ham & Cheese Wontons as well . . . My favorite!
So simple and so delicious!
I use my deep “Fry Daddy” to fry the won-tons.
If you want to make the Brown Sugar Ham . . . It’s so simple.
Cut your ham in small pieces. Melt a combination of margarine & butter in a hot skillet. Place the ham in the butter, and let it sizzle and start to brown. Add about 1 tablespoon of Brown Sugar, a couple dashes of onion powder, and toss the ham around until the caramel sauce thickens and the ham is golden. YUM! I make this ham for Hawaiian pizza, Ham Fried Rice, etc.
There you have it . . . another easy delicious meal!

Jonna - Hi Kristii,
You could fry them lightly on the stove top in a bit of oil, then bake them, but the wontons fry up very quickly.
Good luck,
